Leak detection and repair

For owners, tenants and landlords with a water bill that keeps rising, a damp wall or a meter that turns with every tap off. We find where the water is going, show you, and repair it with as little opening up as we can.

Labour from RM80 an hour. You approve the repair before we open anything.

What leak detection includes

We work from the meter inwards, so nothing is broken open on a guess.

  • Meter testReading the meter with everything off to confirm a leak and measure how fast it runs.
  • Isolating sectionsClosing valves one at a time to narrow the leak down to one room or one run of pipe.
  • Checking the usual causesToilet cisterns, float valves, taps, heater fittings and garden pipes.
  • Concealed pipesTracing leaks in walls, floors and under porches before anything is opened.
  • RepairReplacing the failed joint or section once you approve the quote.
  • RetestReading the meter again after the repair, with you.

Test your meter before you call

Half an hour with every tap off tells you whether water is escaping, and roughly how much.

  1. Turn off every tap, the washing machine and anything else that uses water.
  2. Wait until the roof tank stops refilling, so its float valve is closed.
  3. Note the meter reading, including the red digits.
  4. Wait 30 minutes without using any water, then read it again.
Waiting for two readingsType the meter reading before and after, in cubic metres, and the minutes between them.

Send the result on WhatsApp

A rough check, not a diagnosis. A float valve that will not close also shows as movement.

How we find the leak

  1. Meter test

We read the meter with everything off to confirm the leak and measure it.

  2. Narrow it down

We isolate sections of pipe and check the fittings until the leak is in one place.

  3. Show and quote

We show you the cause, explain the repair and quote the parts. You decide before we open anything.

  4. Repair and retest

We repair it, read the meter again and send you the job report.

What you receive, and what you decide

You receive

The meter readings before and after the repair, so you can see the leak has stopped. A job report on WhatsApp with where the leak was, photos, the parts and the labour hours.

You still decide

Whether to open a wall, floor or tiles to reach the pipe. Which repair, if there is more than one way. Who restores tiles or paint afterwards: we tell you before we start if that is not part of our work.

Leak questions

How do I know I have a hidden leak?

A rising water bill with no change in use, a damp patch, or a meter that moves with every tap off. The meter test on this page is the quickest check.

Will you have to break tiles?

Sometimes, but only after we have narrowed the leak down and you agree. We open the smallest area that reaches the pipe.

What if the leak is before my meter?

Leaks before your meter are usually your water operator's to repair. If we find one there, we tell you and you report it to them.

How long does it take to find a leak?

Many leaks are found within one or two hours. Long concealed runs can take longer, and we keep you told as we go.
