Terms and conditions
These terms explain how this website may be used and the conditions on which Wbox Plumbing & Piping carries out plumbing work in Malaysia.
Who these terms apply to
These terms apply to everyone who uses this website at winboxexperts.com, and to every customer who asks Wbox Plumbing & Piping ("we", "us") to carry out plumbing work. "You" means the person using the website or the customer who asks us to work, including anyone acting for a property owner, such as a tenant, landlord or property manager.
Wbox Plumbing & Piping is a plumbing business in Malaysia. Our office is at 201, Jalan Batai Barat, Bukit Damansara, 50490 Kuala Lumpur.
If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms takes away the rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 or any other law that cannot be excluded by agreement.
This website is not the contract
The pages on this website describe our services in general. They are not an offer to carry out any particular job, and they do not form part of the contract for your job.
A contract for work is made only when we confirm a visit with you, on WhatsApp, by phone, by email or in person. The contract is made up of what we agree for that job, any written quote we give you, and these terms. If a written quote and these terms differ, the written quote applies to that job.
Our services
We carry out domestic and light commercial plumbing: emergency repairs, leak detection, drain clearing, water heater work and pipe replacement, as described on our service pages. We work in Kuala Lumpur, Subang Jaya and other parts of Selangor in the Klang Valley.
Plumbing work connected to the public water supply in Peninsular Malaysia is regulated under the Water Services Industry Act 2006 (Act 655), administered by the National Water Services Commission (SPAN).
We do not carry out work that needs a different registered trade, including gas piping, electrical wiring, and fire sprinkler or hydrant systems. Where a job needs one of these trades, we tell you so that you can appoint one. Water supply pipes and fittings before your meter are the responsibility of your water operator, and public sewers are the responsibility of the sewerage operator.
Quotes, fees and payment
Our labour charge starts at RM80 an hour. The labour rate for your job, and any other charge that applies to the visit, is confirmed with you before we set off.
Parts and materials are charged in addition to labour. We quote the parts on site, after we have found the cause, and fit them only after you approve the quote.
A price given on WhatsApp from a photo or a video is an estimate only. The final price depends on what we find on site.
For larger jobs, such as repiping, we give a written quote. A written quote is valid for the period stated on it.
Payment is due when the job is completed, unless we agree otherwise in writing. We give you an invoice that matches the job report.
Your duties
To let us work safely and on time, you agree to:
- give us accurate information about the problem, the property and its location;
- make sure we can get into the property and to the area we need at the agreed time;
- obtain any permission needed from your landlord, condominium management or joint management body, including registration of contractors and permitted working hours;
- tell us about anything that affects safety, such as known electrical faults, asbestos, unstable ceilings or pets;
- move or protect valuables and fragile items near the work area; and
- have an adult present while we work, unless we agree otherwise.
If we cannot get in, or cannot work safely, at the agreed time, we may charge for the time spent travelling and waiting, at the rate confirmed with you before we set off.
Approvals and changes
We do not fit parts, replace fittings, open walls, floors or ceilings, or extend the work beyond what you asked for without your approval. You may give approval on WhatsApp, by phone, by email or in person.
If we find a further problem during the job, we stop, explain it to you and quote for it. You decide whether we go ahead.
In an emergency, you authorise us to take the steps needed to stop water causing further damage, such as closing valves and capping a pipe, before a full quote is given.
Hidden pipes and existing conditions
Many pipes are concealed in walls, floors and ceilings. We cannot see their condition before we open them up, and older pipes and fittings may break when they are handled, even with proper care.
When we open a wall, floor or ceiling with your approval, we make the opening as small as we reasonably can. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, restoring tiles, plaster, paint and finishes is not part of our work.
We are not responsible for faults in parts of the system we did not work on, or for defects that existed before our visit.
Our liability and its limit
We carry out our work with reasonable care and skill, using parts that are fit for their purpose.
If our work is faulty, tell us as soon as you can. We will inspect it and, where the fault is ours, put it right at no further labour charge.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any one job is limited to the total amount you paid us for that job. We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business or any indirect or consequential loss.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under Malaysian law.
Parts supplied by you, including heaters you have bought yourself, are covered only by their manufacturer's warranty. We are responsible only for the way we installed them.
Cancelling and ending
You may cancel a visit at any time before we set off at no charge. If you cancel after we have set off, we may charge for the travel time, at the rate confirmed with you before we set off.
You may stop a job at any point. You then pay for the work done and the parts fitted or ordered for you up to that point.
We may decline or stop a job if the work is unsafe, if it needs another registered trade, or if we are treated with abuse or threats. You then pay only for the work done up to that point.
Using this website
You may use this website to learn about our services and to contact us. You must not use it in any way that is unlawful, that harms the website or other users, or that tries to gain access to systems you are not authorised to use.
The text, drawings, photographs and design of this website belong to us or to those who licensed them to us. You may view and print pages for your own use, but you may not copy them for commercial use without our written permission.
The leak check on this website is a rough guide based on the meter readings you enter. It is not a diagnosis, and you should not rely on it in place of an inspection.
We try to keep the information on this website accurate and up to date, but we do not promise that it is complete or free of errors. Links to other websites, such as Google Maps and WhatsApp, are provided for convenience, and we are not responsible for their content.
Personal data
We handle personal data in line with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010. Our privacy policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with and your rights.
Governing law and courts
These terms, and any contract for work with us, are governed by the laws of Malaysia.
If a dispute arises, please contact us first so that we can try to resolve it. If it cannot be resolved, the courts of Malaysia have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you may also bring a claim to the Tribunal for Consumer Claims Malaysia, within its limits.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes apply from the time they are published on this page. The terms that apply to a job are the ones published on the day we confirm that job with you.
